Sheryl King
Head of Canada Economics & Chief Strategist, Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Sheryl assumed the role as Head of Canada Economics and Chief Strategist for BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research in July 2009. Under this new purview, she makes macro calls on the equity and fixed income markets derived from her considerable knowledge of the Canadian economy and policy. She started at BofAML as a senior economist in September 2004 overseeing the US macro-economic forecast process. This perspective beyond Canadian borders gives Sheryl keen insight into how the Canadian market fits into the global framework.

Prior to joining BofAML, Sheryl worked for four years at TD Bank, first as the US Economist and then became a bond and currency strategist in the Securities division. From 1992 to 2000, Sheryl was an economist at the Bank of Canada, where she initially monitored the Canadian economy and then moved to the Bank’s open market operations desk as a trader and financial market analyst, providing the Governing Council with tactical advice on the implementation of monetary policy.

Recently, she joined the advisory board for the Center for Monetary and Financial Economics at Carleton University. Sheryl has a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Concordia University in Montreal and a Master of Arts in economics from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
