Bruce Waterman
CF0, Agrium
The agriculture sector is one that doesn't get that much attention in Calgary but is important to Canada and the world. With a rapidly growing global population, improved GDP levels in many developing countries resulting in increased protein consumption, the challenge is for the world's farmers to produce more food on the same amount of land. Agrium plays a significant role in providing crop inputs and advice to farmers across North America and around the world to meet this challenge.
With about $10 billion in sales, Agrium is one of the world's largest suppliers of crop input products to the agricultural market and is the only publically traded company to cross the agricultural value chain. Agrium is the largest Agricultural retailer in North America, a major global producer and marketer of all the major crop nutrients and the leading company in the development of controlled release nutrient products. Mr. Waterman will provide an overview of the agriculture sector and outlook as well as Agrium's structure and growth strategy.
